Whatever for Hire

4 stars – this was listened to during a road trip.

Blain hit the nail on the head with this one. Kanika is a bastard child with the devil – the actual devil – pestering her. In a deal with the devil, Kanika is hired to kidnap a kitten saving firefighter who is off the scales hot. She lures him in with short shorts and long legs. From there – all goes to hell. In the process, Malcolm decides to keep his kidnapper. The two main characters are in each other’s company for most of the book. This book has humor, a complex plot, and sexy antics with irreverent angels. I listened to the audio book during a road trip and enjoyed the reader.

Serial Killer Princess

I gave this 4 stars… I listened to the audio book on a road trip.

Princess Tulip is the result of a mermaid and gorgon mating. She’s got some wicked habits including killing serial killers. Blain’s humor goes overboard with the ridiculousness of this story. Ridiculous but I laughed out loud. My only complaint – not enough interaction between the love interests. The story moves along at a good pace and is very engaging but I wanted more between the two main characters. Justin seems more like a secondary character than her actual love interest. I listened to the audio book during a road trip and enjoyed the reader.
