Peter Adam Salomon is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers

His debut novel, HENRY FRANKS, was published by Flux in 2012. His second
novel, ALL THOSE BROKEN ANGELS, published by Flux in 2014, was
nominated for the Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in Young
Adult fiction. Both novels have been named a ‘Book All Young
Georgians Should Read’ by The Georgia Center for The Book.
His short fiction has appeared in the Demonic Visions series among other
anthologies, and he was the featured author for Gothic Blue Book III:
The Graveyard Edition. He was also selected as one of the Gentlemen
of Horror for 2014.
His poem ‘Electricity and Language and Me’ appeared on BBC Radio 6
performed by The Radiophonic Workshop. Eldritch Press published his
first collection of poetry, PseudoPsalms: Prophets (nominated for the
Elgin Award), and his second and third poetry collections,
PseudoPsalms: Saints v. Sinners and PseudoPsalms: Sodom (nominated
for the Elgin Award), were published by Bizarro Pulp Press. In
addition, he was the Editor for the first books of poetry released by
the Horror Writers Association: Horror Poetry Showcase Volumes I and II.
He founded both National Dark Poetry Day (Oct. 7) and the annual
international Horror Poetry Showcase for the Horror Writers
Association.
Daniel enjoys writers’ conventions as well as genre conventions. Connecting with avid readers is a joy that he never passes up. He has been invited multiple times to speak at local schools about writing and his work. He has been a featured author for several radio and blogtalk programs, and is a returning guest and sometime substitute co-host for the Brian and Sherri radio program, where he helps interview other authors. Outside of writing and promoting his work, Daniel enjoys reading, dancing, music, drawing, cooking, and embroidery. He is a long time member of the Embroiderers Guild of America where he has taught classes in stitching. He plays four different instruments and has sung with the Oklahoma State Universities Presidents Masterworks. He has years of stage work behind him in tap, jazz, and ballet as well as Okinawan traditional and modern dance and music. Each week you can find him teaching classes at his church in Sunday school as well as the Life Development Institute of First Baptist Church of Morristown, Tennessee.
Tell us about yourself.
My name is Daniel Peyton. I am an author, professional dancer, musician, artist, teacher and researcher. I was born and raised in Oklahoma, spent the past 18 years living in the beautiful mountains of East Tennessee and recently relocated to Michigan.
When did you know you wanted to be an author?
I first caught the bug of authoring in the fourth grade. My teacher, Mrs. Rogers, gave us the assignment to just write. I fell in love with telling fantastic stories. In the nineth grade I wrote my first full novel and impressed the mother of my English teacher. Her mother was a professor of English and creative writing at the local university. She accidentally graded my book like it was one of her university students. When she discovered that it was from a ninth grader, she sent it back with a note encouraging me to keep going, for she found my story more well written than anything handed in by all of her students. That kind of encouragement is rare and sure to produce results.
What genres do you like to read?Are these the same genres you write in?
Read and write in fantasy and science fiction. I also love to read classic literature like Dickens.
Is your book for adults, young adults or children?
The book that is coming out soon of my work is for adults, young adults might enjoy it, but it is targeted to an adult audience. My other books that have been published are mostly for young adult audience. The exception being Earths Last Starship, it is a bit more grown up than my other works.
What is your current release or project?
My newest release, which releases today, is called Remnant. It is a Christian Sci-Fi novel. This book weaves Biblical narratives into a thick futuristic dystopian novel. It centers around faith and the fight between politics, science, and religion.
Tell us about the key characters:
The two main characters you will follow throughout the whole book are Anna and Z. Anna is an astro-geologist, basically she studies rocks in space. She has an adventurous side, but lives with constant fear of being discovered by the anti-religious patrols. Z is a android/robot. He is a Z-550 unit, one of many that work for the sciences, government and military. Very human-like in appearance, Z is loyal, funny, and everything you’d expect an android to be. His understands humans, except for the concept of love, it violates all logic to him.
What is your blurb or synopsis of the book?
The year is 2522. Anna is a Remnant—a secret Christian in a world that has banned any form of religion. She is also an astro-geologist working with her Robot, named Z, for the Planetary Science Commission. The PSC has worked for 200 years to find alien life on another planet, and finally, after two centuries, a primitive lifeform has been discovered. Faced with the reality of evolved primitives on a forested moon, Anna begins to question all she has ever believed. Anna and Z travel to the newly-discovered moon in search of answers, but a terrible accident leaves them stranded. Faced with dangerous natives and unfamiliar surroundings, Anna and Z stumble upon a conspiracy that has universal implications. Will Anna discover the truth about the moon and its inhabitants? Can God still move within a culture that has abandoned Him?

Anna’s palms were sweating. Her heart raced so fast, she worried that it would jump out of her chest. Quickly, she hid around a corner of a building on campus and pressed her back up against the cold, rough bricks. Only now did she force herself to breathe, but it came out in a trembling whimper.
In her mind she repeated, I’m just a
short, blonde girl. Nothing special. They won’t notice me. They can’t notice
me. Oh no, what if they find it?
Anna clutched her bookbag to her side, tightly pinching it closed.
“Hey! You!”
Anna tensed up as she heard the yell of the security guard. A girl
dashed into Anna’s sight and was grabbed by a man in military garb.
“I swear I’m not one of them! Please, don’t take me! Please, stop!” The
girl screamed and struggled as she was unceremoniously dragged across the open
quad, along with three others.
The brute of a soldier reared back and slapped her across the face,
sprinkling the ground with blood from her nose. “Shut up!”
“We will not be silenced!” A new voice
screamed; this time it was a young man. “The Word will live forever! Even if
you kill all of the Remnants you find. God will find a way!”
Anna knew this voice well. She carefully looked around the corner and
prayed she was mistaken. He was her best friend. She looked through the dark at
the crowd and gasped. Yes, it was he. There, in the clutches of a well-armed
man, was Gideon.
The word came out without her meaning
to say it.
“No.”
Gideon looked up and then quickly looked away, not wanting to
incriminate her. The soldier noticed this and scanned the crowd to see if he
could spot any accomplices. Anna, who was now surrounded by a dozen confused
and scared students, watched this in horror. They weren’t part of the
Underground, but that didn’t make this scene any less frightening to them. The
guard gave off a grunt and then dragged Gideon back to the military landing
craft along with the other captured students.
As the shuttle lifted into the air,
Anna realized how tightly she had held her bookbag. Her hand hurt; the
impression of the weave was embedded into her palm. Finally realizing it was
over, she leaned up against the wall and bawled like a child, letting out the
fear and sorrow that had welled up inside her.
She was inconsolable. Several other
students came over and tried to get her to stop crying, but she couldn’t help
herself.
“Stand back; let me through. Get to
classes. I’ll help her.” A nicely dressed woman broke up the girls around Anna
and then knelt down. “Anna, are you okay?”
Anna was finally able to speak through the tears, “It’s just not right.
He was my friend.”
The professor pulled out a small
handkerchief and wiped Anna’s face. “It always hurts when you find out anyone
is part of that Underground. Stupid fools. They should know that they will be
discovered. Don’t feel betrayed; he was never really your friend. Those types
are only here to try and convert people to their backward ways and ideas.”
Anna paused and then slowly nodded,
while saying, “Sure.”
The professor stood up as she said,
“Good thing you’re one of our brightest students. Best Astro-Geologist major
I’ve had the privilege of teaching in years. You would never have been
brainwashed by them.”
“Of course not,” Anna said quietly.
“Okay, dry your eyes and dust yourself
off. We have to get the class ready for the trip to the moon tomorrow. Being
the teacher’s assistant, you’ll be leading the team on their mineral survey. I
can’t wait to see you in action again.”
Anna didn’t stand up just yet, “I’ll be
in class; just give me a moment.”
“I understand.” A buzzer sounded over
the intercom. “Oops, I’m going to be late. Okay, see you in a few minutes.” The
professor left in a hurry.
Anna waited until she was alone in the
quad again. Opening her bag, she shuffled several books out of the way and
found the one on the bottom. If they knew she had this, she would be right next
to Gideon, facing whatever terrible fate all the Remnants endured. Was it worth
it?
Do you have a favorite scene?
That would be hard to say. I have many that stick with me. I think one of the best scenes comes late in the book after the evil Dr. Skye thinks he has the upper hand with Z and commands him to betray Anna, but Z has left a nasty little surprise in all of Dr. Skye’s computers on the starship in orbit. Not only is it a great surprise for the readers, it is a hilarious scene to read. I did a lot of research into old comedy routines and sketchs to write that one.
What advice would you give a beginner?
Write. You can plan everything about your book for years, you can look at all the success of others with stars in your eyes. You can study all the ins and outs of publishing, but without a finished book you have nothing to truly give the publishing world.

Jim Cronin is a retired middle school science teacher, currently working
part-time as an educator/performer at the Denver Museum of Nature and
Science. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, raised in Arlington, Virginia
and Denver, Colorado, he became an avid science nerd at the height of
the space race of the 1960’s. After thirty-five years teaching
science in the middle school classroom, he decided to retire and
explore new worlds of opportunities, including volunteering,
bicycling, and writing. It is the writing experimentation which

While writing The New World trilogy proved to be one of the most exciting
challenges of my life, if anyone had told me six years ago I’d be
writing science fiction action-adventure novels, I would have
declared them bonkers! For most of my life, I had been an engineering
and programming nerd whose main reading materials included technical
scientific articles and books with little time to read novels of any
sort of fiction.
The few dreams I experienced during my lengthy career as a Sr. Software
Development Manager at IBM mostly focused on conjuring solutions to
tough technical issues at work. Never did sleep delve into imagining
some fictional adventure. But that all changed after I retired from
IBM in March of 2007 at age 53 with 30 rewarding years of service.
The extra time on my hands provided plenty of hours to devote to more
creative endeavors.
My initial attempt at writing capitalized on my 30 years of investing in
all sorts of financial assets. I wanted to share my knowledge with
our children to aid their financial planning. After completing more
than 400 pages of the manuscript, I joined a writers’ group. The
members liked the technical content but advised me to liven it up to
make in more attractive for my younger target audience of high school
and collage graduates getting a start on life. I came up with an
fictional world and a couple of quirky characters to weave into my
investing lessons.
The members loved the improvements, but an unexpected problem bared
itself: my brain refused to churn out nightly ideas about
investments. Instead, my dreams gushed with captivating characters
and an intriguing new world with plenty of vicious beasts lurking in
the shadows of my mind. I had no choice but to follow the fate which
unfolded night after night, providing oodles of exciting material to
more than fulfill any writing desires. I provided my financial
manuscript to my daughters, and from that exhilarating change of
direction in 2014, I’ve been creating a fascinating new world at the
turn of the next century!
I began writing my first novel, The New World: A Step
Backward in June of 2014 and published it on June 28, 2015.
A little over a year later, on October 1, 2016, I published Book 2 of
the series, The New World: Blue Moon Generation. After a
bit of a delay due to the challenges of a serious family illness, I
completed the final novel of the Trilogy, The New World:
Crimson Winter and published it on November 6, 2018.

become founder of the Boy Scouts of America, Daniel Carter Beard.
These illustrations are now in the public domain, and a handful have
been incorporated into King Arthur’s Sister in Washington’s Court as

Kim Headlee lives on a farm in southwestern Virginia with her family,
cats, goats, Great Pyrenees goat guards, and assorted wildlife.
People and creatures come and go, but the cave and the 250-year-old
house ruins–the latter having been occupied as recently as the
mid-twentieth century–seem to be sticking around for a while yet.
Kim has been a published novelist since 1999 with the
first edition of Dawnflight (Sonnet Books, Simon & Schuster) and
has been studying the Arthurian legends for nigh on half a century.

live in the European Union, Romania – you know the country of Dracula and the
former World Tennis Associations number 1 ranked, Simona Halep.
I
work as IT Engineer. My goal is to become a professional writer. My dream is to
have one of my books turned into a movie.
When did you know you wanted to be an author?
Once
I was a consumer of books. Also I watched movies and I played video games, but
one day I decided to create my own Sci-Fi universe. I started writing in August
2016,
having in mind this consumer experience.

11, 2017 and I will write more, because this saga is not finished.
Tell us about the key characters
The science fiction novel The forsaken colony is not ready yet,
so I prefer to tell you more after I will finish it this autumn. Both the
standalone novel The forsaken colony and the space operaStarship “Apple of Discord”depict alien worlds, advanced technology, alien civilizations and
cultures. I present space and ground battles in my action scenes. I populated
these books with villains and benevolent characters: aliens, warlords,
dictators, traders, scientists, artisans, space pirates, colonists, travellers,
soldiers, kings and princesses. I carefully carved out these two distinct
Sci-Fi universes and I hope the readers will fall in love with them.

Undamaan owned by an alien species,
940 light years
away from Earth
Ixtli, one of the
two continents of Planet Undamaan
There
were only two employees in the hotel’s reception office at that late hour. One
was a male and the other a female of the same humanoid alien species. The males
of this species had variegated marbled skin with nuances of forest green and
big violet eyes, and the females had a sapphire blue color and shiny,
topaz-like eyes. They had already worked continuously for fifteen Earth days
and were due for a break, but the employees for the next shift could arrive
only after the terrible snow storm ceased. When the aliens observed the lift
moving to the ground floor, they rushed from their high-tech office. The two
aliens approached the precious polished wood front desk that was filled with
various objects. All of the aliens who saw them thought that these objects
should be in a museum of history for common people. Only a millionaire from
Earth could afford such luxuries as these.
A human emerged from the lift
carrying a heavy backpack. The man wore an earflap cap and a long, synthetic
fur jacket over a plain shirt and jeans. He was sweating profusely, but that
was all that he could afford to buy from the colony’s bazaar. The two alien employees looked at each other
and giggled.
“Good evening!” the man said joyfully. “Oh! I almost forgot.”
He mimicked the salute the club’s
bartender had given him when he had stopped by there earlier.
“Greetings… Adam!” the alien
male read from a discreetly camouflaged display. “How may I help you?”
The tour company the aliens
worked for did not allow them to use advanced technology in front of the
customers to preserve an authentic experience. Adam approached the front desk,
searching for a bell, but found none. He was disappointed, so he asked, “Where
is it?”
“What
are you looking for, sir?” the alien woman asked Adam.
“You know… That thing that
sounds when you hit it.”
“I am sorry,” the confused alien
asked, “but I don’t know what you are talking about. Can you give me more
details?”
“Never mind.” Adam told her.
“It was just a desk bell.”

Who am I?
I’m a native Californian gone ‘wild’, and had the opportunity to travel
the globe and discover the world through the eyes of both a Marine
Intelligence specialist and a BDSM lifestyler. I left the service to
go into hospice nursing and grief counseling, eventually working as a
marriage and family therapist for those involved in alternative
lifestyle development. This experience has allowed me to gain unique
inspiration for my books and offer realistic plots and relatable characters.
In 2004, my husband, John, and I joined forces to work with both
submissives and dominants- teaching, training, listening and loving.
Our goal was to take the mystery and fear out of the lifestyle and
mentor people in safe, consensual and healthy relationships.
My first book, The Game Plan, was published in 2012 and opened the door
to the now-booming world of Age-Play literature. Since that time,
I’ve devoted my ‘spare’ time to writing, researching, community
involvement, and private and group pro bono counseling in deviant
behavior, alternative lifestyle, and addiction recovery.
I was formally ‘dungeon trained’ as a Domme before discovering my
submissive side when I joined the service. My scenarios are pulled
primarily from either personal experience or observation, including
spending time in BDSM clubs as the safety/medical officer. My
multi-faceted background allows me to glean from many avenues and
give a unique and intelligent literary experience through elements of
fantasy and fiction. I also discuss the questions and psychology of
the lifestyle in a manner that is fun and informative, and based on
‘the real deal.’
I live with my husband, musician, and fellow-author, John Hayse, and
two border collies in southern California. We practice a 24/7 D&S
relationship with speckles of AP (and many trips to Build-A-Bear),
and happily spend every moment together that we can. My hobbies
include my puppies, hiding my vanilla salt-water taffy where John
can’t find it, exotic art, collecting inspirational trinkets, and
