Maya and Jello was born and raised on the beautiful island of Trinidad, the sister island of Tobago in the West Indies. She migrated to the United States as a young teenager. Her main objective was to obtain a great education in the hopes of affording a better life for herself, her family, and to be a blessing to those around her. This quest led her to attain a Doctorate in medicine. But she never let go of her passion for writing poetry. Her works have been published in various school publications under various pen names. During medical school she wrote a segment in the College newspaper under the pen name Sparkie. The poems in this collection were written over a span of 30 years. She hopes that you enjoy reading them, as much as she enjoyed writing them for you.   I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Maya and Jello. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it. Guest Post
Maya and Jello on why readers who love poetry will appreciate this the Colors of Me
If you possess a true appreciation for the art of poetry whether it be pros, verse, lines, or sonnets. Whatever format, whatever flavor. There is something in The Colors of Me written just for you. Each poem embodies the entirety of and experience. And all of the experiences are different. The poems are designed to open up like a flower in bloom and then if needs be fall apart petal by petal. It is in this that I’m able to take the hand of the listener and lead them down a path; meandering through the darkened corners of emotions that we so often hide. Each poem is chock-full of imagery. Who doesn’t have that Mother or Grandmother, Teacher or Preacher who made such a difference in their lives? Who hasn’t experience the wind being knocked out of their sails by betrayal or a lost love? If you’ve ever felt something, ….anything. Then you’ll certainly appreciate The Colors of Me. A good poet can make you cry but I pride myself in making you laugh, and moreover at yourself. The heartfelt romantic pieces are a melee of unbridled emotion. They would ignite the passions in your soul and rekindle what you have, take you back to a time or make you long for that perfect love. You’ll rise to the triumphs and sink in the squalor of inexplicable pain. But just as you think you are about to break, you’ll hear a poem, a message, seemingly straight from the heart of God himself that would lift your spirits, that would mend your heart. It would rekindle your passion for life and living. You’d feel empowered to dust yourself off and rise to the occasion. You’ll gain the strength to embrace your past and forge forward to bigger and better things. And who knows, with faith in your left pocket and hope in your right, you may even venture to love again.

The Heart of Space

The Heart of Space
by Cendrine Marrouat
Genre: Poetry
“The Heart of Space” is a collection of 38 pieces that delve into several major topics, including solitude, the importance of embracing pain, and the lessons one can learn from self-discovery.
“Every single poem is utterly endearing, imbued with a careful sense of introspection, philosophical musings and above all a genuine feeling of hope that, no matter what happens to us in our lives, in the end things will turn out all right.” – David Ellis, Author of “See A Dream Within: Found “Poe”try Based On The Collected Poetry Works Of Edgar Allan Poe”
Thank you for your interest in my work!
My name is Cendrine Marrouat. (It is pronounced as “san-drEEn mar-wah”. The “t” at the end is optional.) Originally from Toulouse, France, I moved to Winnipeg, Canada, in 2003. I am a dual citizen.
I am a photographer, specializing in nature, black-and-white and closeup images. My photography seeks the mundane to capture the fleeting, but true beauty of life in its many forms.
I approach photography in the same way as I write poetry. It’s not about the tools. It’s about the moment when my eyes catch a story that needs to be told. What happens next, is a spiritual yearning to describe the scene with my camera. However, it is during the editing process that my poetic background comes into play. Every photo must achieve two goals: simplicity and serenity. I use the pure black and white format to convey timelessness. Occasional tinges of sepia are for added depth. Finally, colors stand for romanticism.

Lovecontu Song de Light

Lovecontu Song de Light Lovecontu Audio Set
by Kaitlynzq
Genres: Adult Literary Fiction, poetry, Romance
The stories within Lovecontu Song de Light Lovecontu
connect, unfold, interweave many character’s stories
needs, feelings, desires, dreams
contain words of
caresses around
as a cocoon of soft cashmere
accompanied by sweet aroma
allures to intimate nearness
remains a velvet kiss
their threads as two crescent moons
connected under the firelights
that layer the chords, and form the lyrics
all of you entered my world as dawn’s awakening sky of soft palette
my garnet heart melted in iridescence to bloom in sun’s rays
glow in night’s depth as the stars echo the rhythm of my heart
my insides sigh and expand in delight
harmonious blend as our lives
circle the melody
caresses around
as a cocoon of soft cashmere
accompanied by sweet aroma
allures to intimate nearness
remains a velvet kiss
1) What is your author name and where do you currently live?
My author name is my first name, Kaitlynzq, and I currently live in northern California, and have a love for soft, gentle breezes and calm climates. Trees, flowers, the ocean, and mountains are all extremely important to me with how I connect.
2) Can you share more about the concept of your book?
My writing forms into books that are connected as a set of interconnected stories with elements from each story that interweave in one another as heart’s wave, heart’s song, heart’s breath. Characters with the same feelings, needs, dreams, desires while each book holds its own unique form. Instead of a chronological set, the books included in a series are inter-connected, meaning interior connected.
My first series, Lovecontu Song de Light Lovecontu includes Ancient Script of Lovecontu audio poem, Legend of Song de Light audio book, Legend of Song de Light audio play, and Lovecontu Song de Light Lovecontu audio set.
With interior poetic stanzas hinted at in Legend of Song de Light that bloom into full poems in Ancient Script of Lovecontu to then step within notes of love within Legend of Song de Light, as a “Yes, …, I, …, will meet you tonight.”
And, all three of these books are held gently in my book Lovecontu Song de Light Lovecontu audio set, and written with poetic prose and touches of romance.
3) And, even more details?
Lovecontu Song de Light Lovecontu audio set holds the internal vocabulary of a character’s heart, that beautiful space of needs, desires, dreams, feelings, with the undercurrent of the depth of lovecontu a continual rhythm within a heart.
Lovecontu touches as flowers, sounds of a pink glow, song of radiant chords, and continues within the series of interconnected stories Lovecontu Song de Light Lovecontu.
For the vocal synopsis of this audio set, and more about the series, the following link will guide you to the playlist on my audio streams for Lovecontu Song de Light Lovecontu
4) What inspired you to write this book?
Within my books, I include delicate symmetry of colors, music, and flowers. Sometimes as symbolic metaphors, and other times as literal connections, within a character’s experiences that at times, link with another character’s experience. Moment by moment, layer by layer, that become a story.
My inspirations come from the interior spaces within my heart, within other people, and within precious natural elements like the layers inside of a tree. And, in the night time depths of my heart the idea for this series continued to unfold to join in the daylight hours to reveal even more as I wrote.
5) Do you have an author website and/or blog?
blog & audio streams newsletter signup form: http://eepurl.com/dN-AFj
6) What genres do you like to read? Are you open to reading new authors and reviewing their work?
I love adult literary fiction, poetry and romance, and these are the same genres that I write in. New authors are as wonderful as any author along the spectrum of their life and artistry.
I don’t review authors’ work; however, I have created a collective book box subscription that focuses on the beautiful depths of poetry, and highlights the full color wheel of poets. If any poets are interested in being included in one of the editions for hearts’ poetry, more information is available here kaitlynzq.com/poets-center
I would be honored to have a conversation with you about the opportunities to include you in hearts’ poetry…
a special extension and collection of the artistry of poets
each of their heart’s natural language, imagination’s dance
their words stream into sounds of lyrical compositions that form the stanzas lines and notes that connect together into poems as their unique
heart’s wave, heart’s song, heart’s breath
heart’s breath, heart’s song, heart’s wave
and are woven into each month’s hearts’ poetry
7) As a writer, what would you choose as your mascot/avatar/spirit animal?
It is difficult for me to explain within one animal, because I connect with many animals…butterflies gentle way they float in the air, snow leopard and their soft, intense depth of their eyes, horses and their elegant way, bigfin reef squid and its beautiful way of bioluminescence in the sea, a hummingbird’s dance, eagle’s long wingspan, axolotl and their kind expression, little blue penguin’s precious tenderness, and my list goes on and on.
And, my love of these precious beings are part of something that I’ve designed called giving tree, where 25% of sales goes to a charity within books, theatre, radio and nature. All of my Every Things

All Of My Every Things
by L. Bachman
Genre: Poetry
This is not a normal poetry book. It is an exorcism of the soul. A poet will write about the highs and lows of their life in excruciating beautiful ways. Wrapping their pain with a ribbon to either be kept as a secret or presented. L. Bachman has gathered some of her most emotionally raw verses selected from a nineteen-year period of her life and is the first volume of complete non-fiction to date.
With bruised white knuckles, created by a humbled self-diagnosed battered and broken being on the road to healing and coping from a painful childhood. This is a display of work created to express personal struggles and surviving through periods of insomnia, moments of love, depression, anxiety, and healing.
Cover to cover you will read the inner workings of a reclusive introvert that has spent her lifetime trying to answer her own questions about who she is, what part she plays in life, and trying to heal from things she couldn’t. You will see into the mind of the woman known as L. Bachman through over thirty poems left up to the reader to interpret with an introduction by author KJ. Taylor.
At a young age, Lynn Lesher began writing and creating digital art, unaware these things would play such a powerful role in her life. Taking upon the pen name L. Bachman, she began putting her talents to good use in her publishing career. Firstly, she put her skills as a digital graphic artist and in 2015 she published her first book, Maxwell Demon, introducing the world to The Blasphemer Series. A series she began developing in her youth. This led to her second release, a short story titled Human Ouija, that garnered her being listed as a bestseller and went on to gain awarding from “Author’s Excellence Awards” for “Best Horror Story 2017”.
She continued as a freelance graphic artist throughout her career creating a network that led to her being involved in several anthologies for charitable causes. These shorter stories can still be found in various publications, including her work Little Lunacies. Bachman became known for her emotional darker style, through these shorts and her novels, that some called ‘gothic in nature’ and ‘reminisce of an older style of writing’.
In 2019 she released her first non-fiction poetry collection called All of My Every Things, that continued holding true to the style she’s become known for. This poetry collection has been called ‘an exorcism of a soul’ as it bears some of her most emotionally raw poems collected over nineteen years of her life.

Madison Gonzalez

Madison and I connected through a post on Twitter. She’s a poet who uses words to convey a powerful message. From the few excerpts I’ve read, she’s quite talented.

Author Bio

Madison Gonzalez is an Empowerment Poet, wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. A Leo. An INFP. A 7W2. Aside from her family holding her heart – she is a lover of celebrations, bubble-baths, detoxing, Merlot, the ocean, and of course, poetry. She turned to writing after her crippling battle with Post-Partum Depression and Anxiety following the birth of her son. She has known heartbreak but swears she is stronger for it. She uses writing as a way to heal – herself and others. Madison is a recovering perfectionist who preaches the value of self love and the value of sharing your story. She knows the importance of a light in the darkness and hopes she can use her voice to be that for others

Tell us about yourself.

I am an Indianapolis-based Empowerment Poet and Public Speaker. With a background in communication, my message highlights the value and importance sharing your story. I address topics of resilience, authenticity, self-acceptance, self-care, and self-love.

When did you know you wanted to be an author?

I knew I wanted to be an author when I realized how much writing healed me. One day I sat down and poetry began pouring out of me. When I couldn’t stop thinking in poetry – I knew I had to pursue it.

What genres do you like to read?  Are these the same genres you write in?

I spend most of my time reading poetry. I write poetry as well.

Is your book for adults, young adults or children?

Adults and Young Adults

What is your current release or project?

Dear Mirror: A Poetic Journey of Self-Reflection and Empowerment

Tell us about the key characters

The main character is intended to be both the author and the reader. Dear Mirror is dedicated to anyone ready to finally recognize their reflection and strives to drive the point that we are all connected through struggle and triumph.

What is your blurb or synopsis of the book?

Broken into four parts Convex, Refraction, Concave, and Reflection, this collection of poetry and prose explores some of life’s most difficult challenges – mental health issues, relationship struggles, and societal standards.

Dear Mirror is a book of empowerment poetry that will guide the reader from a place of insecurity, darkness, heartbreak, and pain to discovering the true power that comes with hope, perseverance, and owning one’s true identity by embracing genuine self-acceptance and self-love.

Share an excerpt

The curtain opens to a place of darkness. A place of
convex distortion. A place of blame and insecurity.
A place of outward perspective and a lack of control.
Though, through a series of trials, heartbreaks, and
epiphanies, the story and the character begin to change –
the light begins to bend and refraction occurs. The story
twists to a concave, inward inspection. A claiming of
identity and responsibility. During the process of looking
within – a new strength is born. An unstoppable power
that cannot be shaken by the storms outside – not mental
health, not betrayal, not societal standards. The
foundation is strong because it is true – the crystal-clear
reflection of self that can’t be seen in any mirror; the most
powerful force on Earth.

That is very deep and meaningful. Beautiful! Do you have a favorite scene?

Inner Peace on Page 94 – the first poem in the final chapter, Reflection. This is the first poem of epiphany after the struggle experienced in the previous chapters.

What advice would you give a beginner?

First and foremost, write for yourself. Your message may not be for everybody but it is for somebody and that somebody needs to hear what you have to say. Stories outlive their tellers. Stories are your legacy. Don’t give up and don’t ever stop.
