Amelia Oliver – returns!

I’m really pleased to welcome Amelia Oliver back to my blog! Her sexy books have captured my attention and have entertained me thoroughly.

I’ve read three of her books – Never Ever, Four Ever, and Blaze. Click on the title to read my review on Goodreads.

Author Bio

Amelia Oliver lives at the seaside in England with her husband and son, Oliver. When she’s not busy being a mum and wife, she writes. Luckily, her husband supports her 100% and helps her bring life to the characters in her head, who demands she writes their story. If there’s one thing Amelia doesn’t like it’s to choose, and neither does her fictional women. That’s why she’s writing in the reverse harem genre, where her heroines will never have to choose just one guy.

Amelia is no stranger to mental and physical health problems, so she loves writing about women who overcome struggles. Amelia is a self-proclaimed potty mouth with a naughty sense of humour. Seriously, who said “he/she said” jokes aren’t funny???

Since your last visit, give us an update on you and what you’ve been up to.

“To rid this world of evil, first I must Blaze.”

London is a wasteland, the Panda Virus still spreads.

Half starved and more than a little savage, Baby and I fight tooth and claw to survive. I’ve got a secret that I must never let anyone see. If I do, they’ll kill me. Or worse. So I’ve hidden myself away, avoiding contact with others.

Three men claim I’m promised to them, but my dark past made me cold, broken. Can I let them love me? Could I love them?

If we can survive that is.

When my secret is discovered, I learn who and what I am. But so do others and now we must fight against evil and save the beings that inhabit this world.

Can my men and I survive long enough to save this world from those who threaten to destroy it? Or will we die trying?

My name is Kayla, and this is a story of how war never changes. But humankind does. Standalone reverse harem, dystopian, paranormal romance.

Continuation – Hybrid Coming 2020!

Memories assault me, lying helpless under a pile of rubble in a dark room. My blood cooling against the dirty wooden floor beneath me. Wishing with every ounce of my soul I wasn’t a broken bitch, and I could just allow myself to love. And be loved. My mother’s face looking concerned as I refused to get to know any of the boys who visited Kaleido‐scope farm. Hands grab my body in all directions and teeth sink into my flesh as four distinct male voices scream my name.

“Argh fuuuuck.” The words burst from my lips as fire erupts from my body, pouring out like water from a broken skin. The hands around my throat melt away, the skin drip‐ping down the front of my body as my clothes fall. Pain unlike anything I’ve ever felt leaches energy from me. I sink to the ground, my legs no longer able to hold me up. GuessI’m not a muggle after all. Darkness covers my vision as the ground races up to meet my face. I am so sick of passing out!

“Kayla. Oh my God. Shit! She’s bleeding out,” Charlie cries out. Warmth touches my cheek as the cold seeps into mybones.

“Heal her already, Charlie!” Crowley yells, the sound of skin hitting skin penetrates the darkness. Someone just got slapped. “Heal her!” Soft plump lips gently press against mine.

I wait for the rush to start, he’s healed me before so now I know what to expect, I brace myself. Only, nothing happens. He pulls away, taking his heat and sweet scent with him. No!

“It’s not working…” Poor Charlie sounds so confused. As I drift away a sob makes me pull back. Charlie! No. Please don’t cry for me. Did we save Chris?

“Try. Again,” Crowley growls, he sounds so pissed, I’d hate to be Charlie right now. It’s not Charlie’s fault, you grumpy sod!

Charlie’s lips once again meet mine, this time they’re wet with salty tears. The darkness closes in again. I hear Charlie scream my name and Connor’s crying big sobs. Crowley curses everything under the Godforsaken sun and I take my last breath. The ground beneath me is shaking. Or is that me? Opening my eyes, I’m surrounded by pure white light. Whoa, where am I?

“Kayla, my daughter.”

My entire body freezes, snakes slither inside my stomach.

“Mother?” Turning without even moving, I come face to face with my dead mother.

I LOVE this scene. It’s one of my favorites…. Please tell us about any other accomplishments.

I have a Christmas short story coming out soon, and a short BBW story coming out in January. I’m also working on a continuation of Blaze, called Hybrid.

Are you attending any events (online or in person)

No, not yet.

What’s next for you?

I’m working on Hybrid, I also have several more books planned for next year. The third and final instalment of The Everly Davis Chronicles, one with vampires, one with werewolves and many more!

With more experience, what advice would you give a new author?

Amelia – There’s no such thing as CAN’T, or too much sex.

Thomas Kane

Thomas Kane is a new author to me. He writes fantasy which is one of my favorite genres.

Author bio

I grew up in the woods of Maine. While in college, I began writing supplements for role-playing games, and I spent the early 1990s doing that full-time. Selected publications include GURPS Egypt, GURPS Espionage, GURPS China and the Shadowrun adventure Ivy and Chrome. I also had the opportunity to write Cyberpunk and Ars Magica adventures for Atlas Game – I’m especially happy with The Osiris Chip and Trial By Fire.

In 1995, I took an opportunity to go to graduate school in England. I stayed to lecture in international relations and strategic studies at the University of Hull. Much of my work focused on both ancient and modern China. My academic career also gave me the chance to travel around Europe, with a few trips to Asia as well. Twenty years later, I have returned to Maine, and to writing fantasy.

Tell us about yourself.

I’m a fantasy author who is lucky enough to live on a wooded hilltop in a place that could exist in one of my stories. Indeed, when the power goes out, my place becomes more like a medieval fantasy world than I would like.

When did you know you wanted to be an author?

Early! The idea crystalized for me at age 11 when one of my teachers read The Lord of the Rings aloud in class. I remember reflecting on the question “what do you want to be when you grow up” and feeling a clear sense that writing was something I actually wanted to do.

What genres do you like to read?  Are these the same genres you write in?

I read widely! Most of my writing is fantasy, and I do indeed read that. I just finished Sarah Katz’s novel The Messenger from the Mountain, which is set in Greece just after WWI. It’s largely realistic, but includes appearances by gods and creatures from classical Greek mythology. I recommend it!

Is your book for adults, young adults or children?

I wrote it for adults, but the main character is eleven. A couple of readers have wanted to share the book with their children, and I am delighted about that. I do warn people that the book contains small amounts of bad language, along with a fight scene and a drinking scene. Personally, I think most children could handle it, but I want parents to be aware before making a decision.

What is your current release or project?

The Witches of Crannock Dale, which is the first book in a series titled Mara of the League.

Tell us about the key characters

The main character is Mara Bennett, a smart and introspective elven-year old. When the grown-ups around her don’t seem to be solving problems, she’s not afraid to take matters into her own hands. She is often joined by her little brother Jason.

What is your blurb or synopsis of the book?

When an enemy army threatens eleven-year old Mara’s home, she makes up her mind to save her family, one way or another. But when the knights protecting her village arrest her favorite aunt for witchcraft, she discovers that the difference between friend and foe may not be as obvious as she once thought.

This is a story of war and espionage, set in a low fantasy world. It is also about a child getting to know her mother and father in a new way.

Chapter One: Metasmart

A week and two days before my twelfth birthday, the church bell rang.

Up until then, it had seemed like a normal day. Mamma had told me to practice my arithmetic. At first, I shook my head so hard that my braids flew, but Mamma sighed at me the way she sighs at Pappy. “Mara Elspeth Bennet, just yesterday your Grampy asked me whether you could divide, and I had to tell him no.” After that, I felt really small, so I let her write out some problems on my slate.

I took the slate and two pieces of chalk down Crannock Hill to Grampy’s mill pond and tried to make a start, but I hated division, so what I really did was sit on a big rock and smell the grass and watch the water turn golden in the late afternoon sun. Division doesn’t make sense to me. You have to figure out how many times one number goes into another, and there seems to come a time where you just have to guess. So, I dug the side of my slate with a fingernail and thought about other things.

I thought, mainly, about justice. Most of the girls in Crannock Dale learned their letters and maybe sums and that was enough. I was the only one who had to keep on with numbers, and I didn’t think it was fair. Just because Pappy went to school in Caer City is no reason. Once, I remembered, I said that to Mamma. Mamma told me I had a choice – if I didn’t learn arithmetic, I could grow up to be a farmhand’s wife. When Mamma says you have a choice, she means you don’t.

Another time, I complained about numbers to Pappy. He told me that the reason why I had to study things other children didn’t was that I was smart. I said I wished I was smart enough to get out of studying arithmetic. He said that would be metasmart. I think that’s a word he made up, but I like it.

Anyway, while I was thinking about those things, the bell donged. And it was Nurnsday. My first thought was to be glad, because it wasn’t division, and maybe there would be some excitement.

The bell was supposed to ring on Yisday. First, the people in Minton Pass were supposed to ring their bell, and when we heard it, we were supposed to ring ours. Then the people in Merryhock and Glenet Bridge were supposed to hear us, and they were supposed to ring their bells to warn the villages farther down the valley. That was how we practiced spreading the alarm, so that we would know how to call for help if the Pure Men of Waan attacked.

Once, when Pappy and Mamma and I were having dinner with Grampy, I said that if I was Queen of Waan, I would invade on a Yisday, so that when the bells rang, people would think it was just for practice. Everyone laughed, even my grandfather, as if it was a joke. I laughed too, because I was pleased to have the grownups listening to me, but I thought I really would.

Now I wouldn’t, because now I know that queens aren’t important in Waan. No one told me that. I found out for myself. My uncle Tate bought a broadsheet pamphlet about Waanish depravities. It was full of words which I’m not supposed to say, but he forgot and left it on a chair when my mamma took me to his house for a visit.

While the grownups were talking, I read the parts of the broadsheet that were facing up. That’s how I learned that kings in Waan have lots of wives, and that they keep them locked up. They also have concubines and catamites, who count for even less. So, now I would never be on their side.

After the bell rang, there were a few minutes in which nothing seemed to have changed. The paddlewheel was still splashing around in the stream and the same growling noise was still coming from inside the mill. Then I heard another faint chime. This one came from the hills behind me. That meant the Minton bell was ringing after ours, and that the alarm was spreading from south to north. And we never practiced like that, because Waan was north of us.

That was when I realized that something real was happening. And that was when I got scared.

Do you have a favorite scene?

Without giving too much away, it involves a very, very naughty cat.

What advice would you give a beginner?

Write the story you want to write, and don’t let people browbeat you with overbearing advice.

Pebbles Lacasse

Pebbles and I met through social media. We both write in roughly the same genres so this is going to get steamy. Better put the kiddies to bed and pour a glass of your favorite beverage.

Author Bio

Pebbles Lacasse writes sizzling erotic romance novels with a bdsm subgenre. She lives in southern Ontario, Canada where she was born and raised.
Visit her website and sign up for her newsletter to get to learn more.

Tell us about yourself.

I write tales of steamy romance. I love taking my characters in my erotic novels on a rollercoaster ride of emotions as they explore their innermost thoughts and desires. I’ve written books under several different genres and aliases, favouring erotic romance and BDSM.

Born and raised in southern Ontario, I never felt a need to stray too far. I still reside in the area with my husband of many years. Unfortunately, my two adult children have moved away to further their educations and careers. Being very family oriented, their absence is greatly missed. Thankfully, internet keeps us feeling close.

I spend my time tapping the keys on my computer, playing and training my Mastiff, enjoying life with my husband, and loving all the wonderful people who enrich my life.

When did you know you wanted to be an author?

That’s a funny story. My whole life, I’ve had crazy stories running through my head, and didn’t think much of it. I fell ill and wasn’t able to go to work or do much of anything. It was a very dark time in my life. To keep myself entertained and sane, I spent my time building huge puzzles—one being 8000 pieces—and gluing them together so my husband could frame them to put them up on the walls. After I had finished the fourth, he begged me not to start another, saying we didn’t have room on the walls. So, he suggested I write a book, or something. I sat down at my computer and pounded out three books in two months. I taught myself how to self-publish and away I went.

After I changed my genre to erotic romance, I was picked up by a publishing company, and the rest is history. I’ve recently published a few on KU, feeling a need to go back to my roots and publish them indie style.

What genres do you like to read?  Are these the same genres you write in?

What do I like to read? I love anything with romance, suspense, drama and even horror, as long as it’s leading up to an erotic event. A lot of authors won’t read the genre they write, saying it makes them feel like they’re still working, but I love reading and writing erotic romance.

Is your book for adults, young adults or children?

My books are definitely NOT for children. My stories include lots of explicit sexual encounters, centering around BDSM. They’re for people who are in that lifestyle or simply want to learn more about it. It’s not the Hollywood version of BDSM, it’s about the realism of the relationships between the doms and the subs. Please keep these books away from anyone under 18 years of age.

What is your current release or project?

I recently released My Wife & Master Jake. It’s a story about a writer, Beth, who has been married for a long time to a wonderful man, Henry. Their marriage is strong, and their sex life is wonderful, but starting to seem repetitive. He fantasizes about Jake, his sexually dominant coworker, ravishing his wife. It turns him on so much that he sets the two of them up. The story is about Beth discovering her strength through submission. You’ll follow her on her journey, experiencing her emotions, thoughts and physical struggles of both pain and pleasure. As the story builds, it intensifies when Henry discovers more truths about himself and his desires, than he ever imagined.

Tell us about the key characters

Beth McDavid is a tall woman with short, dark hair. She has no children and no pets. She’s been married to Henry McDavid for many years, he also has no children. She loves her husband but wants to experience something more, something thrilling. As a writer who is finding it difficult to find an ending to her newest work in progress, she is starting to doubt her talent. She realizes the genre is no longer interesting her, so she switches it to resemble her new life as a submissive to Jake.

Henry McDavid is Beth’s husband. He’s tall, with dark hair, a thin build, and quite handsome. He is all business when he talks about his job, which is why he sits in such a high position. Companies hire him and his coworkers to find inconsistencies in their financials. He’s been hiding a secret kink, which is what this book is about. He wants to watch his wife succumb to a strong dominant, Jake.

Jake O’Keefe is a drop dead gorgeous younger man, who exudes dominance both at work and at play. He is tall, with long blond hair that is always messy, and sky-blue eyes that seem to see into Beth’s conscience, knowing everything she’s thinking. He is a dominant who adores Beth and treats her with kindness, even when she is succumbing to his wicked punishments.

What is your blurb or synopsis of the book?

Beth is a mystery writer, unable to find an ending to her newest manuscript. The stories she writes aren’t thrilling her the way they used to. Although happy with the life she’s built with her husband, Henry, a little more spice in their sex life would relieve the monotony that’s stalling her creativity.

Henry is a high-powered accountant, in a stressful position. He works long hours, but always makes time for the love of his life, Beth. Henry has a secret desire to watch his wife being seduced by his sexually dominant co-worker and friend, Jake.

She agrees to meet with the younger, gorgeous man, but only after Henry’s urging. She can’t deny how his confidence and sexy, seductive voice excites her. His explanation of the rules convinces her that she can walk away at any time. Jake hopes she’ll discover how powerful she is, through her submission to his BDSM desires. Her sessions with him test her mentally, physically and emotionally. She soon finds herself craving what he has to offer.

Henry’s voyeuristic desires bring forth the question of his own submission. Is being under the power of a woman, or another man, something he’s willing to do for his wife? Will their marriage thrive, or fail, when they take things further than either had planned?

“Tell me what you want, Beth.”
What does he want me to say? Does he want details like how fast or slow to fuck me? Perhaps just a rough description. “Make love to me.”
He frowns. “No, I won’t ever do that. Your husband can make love to you. I’m available strictly for sexual pleasure but definitely not lovemaking. If you’re hoping for more than what I’m offering, you’ll be greatly disappointed.”
“Oh, no! That’s not what I meant, exactly.” How can I not find the right words to describe what I want from him right now? I am a writer, goddammit!
“Beth, in this room, I need you to be specific. What do you want?” I simply shrug, not sure of what to say. “Do you want me to lick or fuck your pussy? Fuck your ass again? Stimulate you another way, perhaps? I don’t often ask, so take advantage. I do what I want within her boundaries. Because I don’t know you well enough to know what you want, I will ask you this one time. What do you want, Beth?”
“Um, I’d like to take you in my mouth.”
“Do you want it to be forced, or should I let you have all the control?”
“A little of both, maybe,” I reply with a shyness that’s unnecessary at this point.
“I don’t ever want you to be coy with me. If you want something and I ask you to speak, answer me precisely; otherwise, I’ll do what I want, and you might not like it.” He insists, “Get down on your knees and tell me you want to suck my cock.”
“Yes, Sir,” I say while sliding my weary body off the bed and onto my knees in front of him. He holds his cock in his fist. I’m looking up at him with my lips parted, ready to take him. He’s looking down at my gaping mouth. He puts two fingers in and slides them along my tongue until they are in past his knuckles. I watch him lick his lips. His eyes admire the depth his fingers have reached. He’s pleased with my ability to evade gagging. He pulls his fingers out, then slides them back in, but now there are three fingers at the back of my tongue. I open my throat and force my tongue against my bottom jaw to prevent me from gagging. I don’t want him to see me as an incapable woman.
“Again, tell me what you want.”
With his fingers still deep in my mouth, I do my best to say, “I want to suck your cock.”
After sliding his fingers from my mouth, Jake says, “This should be fun.” His smile lifts the corner of his mouth as he puts the head of his cock between my lips and tells me, “Suck just that much.”
I tighten my lips around the mushroom head and suck gently, teasing his hole with my tongue. I watch his facial twitches as my lips work the tip of his prick. He bites his bottom lip while stroking the back of my head with his hand. He lifts his chin and looks straight ahead as if to distract his thoughts from my actions. I start rocking my head forward and back, taking more of him in my mouth each time.
Suddenly, Jake grabs my hair and yanks my head back. He bends down until his face is nearly touching mine. “You only suck what I offer you. Don’t be so fucking greedy.”
He stands back up while my heart pounds, my eyes wide open, fighting back nervous tears. Why was he so angry with me? I was sucking his cock. Isn’t that what men like? I open my mouth and wait for him to put exactly how much he wants to in my mouth. Why am I so upset about disappointing him? He didn’t hit me or anything. Fucking get it together, Beth!
He whispers reassuring words. “Don’t cry. You’re stronger than that. You have the power to make it all stop. Do you want to stop?” I shake my head. “You’ll learn to follow instructions. If I tell you to do something, you do it how I say; nothing more, nothing less. When I say that I only want you to suck the tip of my cock, that’s all you’ll suck until I offer you more. Do you understand?”
I nod, still holding the tip of his cock between my lips. I return to sucking softly and licking the tip, staying conscious of how much I’m taking in. I no longer want to cry because he’s right; it’s my choice to be here, and I can leave if I want to.

Do you have a favorite scene?

Yes! My favourite scene is when Beth decides to visit Henry at the office. She meets her new friends, Jenna and Jake on the way. Jake escorts Beth, and he whispers an office scenario in her ear that has her dripping wet. In Henry’s office, Jake takes Beth on the desk in front on Henry. It’s hot and unexpected. Who hasn’t fantasized about having sex at work with a hot coworker?

What advice would you give a beginner?

The best advice I can give to a beginner is to do your research, always have a safeword, and trust your partner to keep you safe and to respect your boundaries. If you don’t feel safe, don’t do it. Also, have fun with it! The experience doesn’t have to be all serious and dark; laugh when you feel silly, scream when you feel the need and say when you want more or less. BDSM doesn’t always have to include pain.

Teresa Keefer

Teresa Keefer and I met at an event in Indiana. It was a quick meeting but she still agreed to do an interview!

Author Bio

Amazon Erotic Horror bestselling author Teresa Keefer writes both contemporary and paranormal romance. When she isn’t writing or working at her day job in the human resource field, she enjoys cooking, gardening, crafts, and caring for the menagerie of animals she lives with in the rural Hoosier state area. A spiritualism scholar, Teresa has had some interesting conversations with the spirit world. As an indie author, she enjoys traveling to book signings and meeting new readers.

Tell us about yourself.

I’m a human resource professional by day and a contemporary/paranormal romance writer by night. I also enjoy gardening, cooking, traveling, crafting and spending time with my family.

When did you know you wanted to be an author?

About 18 years ago, I shared a poem or two that I had written with my best friend. He was impressed and suggested I try to write full length stories and gave me a story line to work with. I cranked out a couple chapters and sent them to him. For my birthday that year, he bought me a Writer’s Digest magazine and Stephen King’s autobiography “On Writing”. It was much later that I finally wrote my first full-length romance novel Coming Home which ended up being the first of my Possum Creek series. I self-published it in 2012. But I didn’t really answer the question, did I? Honestly, I think I’ve always wanted to be a writer since I was a little girl. I love books and I had a huge imagination so what else would I do?

What genres do you like to read?  Are these the same genres you write in?

I like to read everything but science fiction. From romance to thrillers to horror to political suspense and even non-fiction books on politics and spirituality. I primarily write paranormal and contemporary romance, but I have been plugging away at a political thriller under the pen name of Ann Nevada…after being given the idea from my best friend. I hope to have it finished up in the near future.

Is your book for adults, young adults or children?

None of my books are for children. I would say my audience could be from 16 to 100 and even some of my more erotic novels such as my Vampire Blood Trilogy would have to be limited to adults.

What is your current release or project?

I’m working on Ruby’s Revenge right now. It is a women’s fiction and if I had to classify it, the best way I could would be “think Lifetime Movie material”.

Tell us about the key characters

Ruby Page is the main character. She is an intelligent girl with dreams as big as the horizon. There are several secondary characters that are protagonists to her, some of which are not presently named as it is a work in progress and I’m a punster…so anything could happen. But she will have a lover who follows her through the entire book.

What is your blurb or synopsis of the book?

Ruby was born on the wrong side of the tracks but that doesn’t mean she is going to stay there. When tragedy strikes her on more than one occasion, she rises from the ashes and exacts her revenge. A tale of heartbreak, murder, assault, blackmail and revenge which ultimately gets Ruby right where she wants to be.

Share an excerpt.

She stood looking out across the vast land as the sun set in a riot of oranges, purples and golds. From her place in front of the wide picture windows, she wrapped her arms around herself in an attempt to stave off the chill of the room. These rolling acres would be covered with snow soon, but she would be safe, secure and warm in the comfort of this home she had done so many things to attain.

Her dark hair cascaded down her back and around her shoulders with just the slightest tint of red and her lithe body was clad in a pair of well-worn jeans tucked into the expensive leather boots she had purchased in Mexico. Her flannel shirt fit her like it was made especially for her, and the conch belt imbedded with turquoise was cinched around her slim waist.

Footsteps fell heavily across the floor behind her and she smiled as she saw his reflection in the glass. Tall, dark and muscular, he had just come in from feeding the horses in the stables. She could smell the sweet fragrance of hay mingling with traces of his cologne.

When he put his hands on her shoulders, she leaned back against him and let the warmth of his body penetrate her clothing. He was all the heat she needed now.

“I can’t believe you haven’t started a fire. It’s mighty nippy in here.” His lips brushed the top of her head. “Would you like me to do it?”

She nodded. “Yes. Please. That would be nice. I sent Maria home for the night so we could have the house to ourselves.”

“After the past few days, I would welcome the peace and quiet.”

The last few days. For her they had been endless. Between Guy’s friends and family sniffing around for anything they could find to discredit her and the attorneys finally reading the will to the dismay of all who had been seated around the dining room table, she was glad to see them all go. And as soon as they were out of her hair, she had gone up in the master bath and drawn a tub full of hot water and sunk beneath the surface, allowing the fragrant bubbles to wash away all the dirt she felt had accumulated over her body for the last fourteen years. Then she had called him. Told him it was over, and he could come to her. Told him the private plane would be at the airstrip outside town. He had politely declined, instead opting to drive his own truck across three states to be with her.

It had given her time to clear out all Gus’s belongings. She had burned them. Then she set Maria on the task of cleaning the ranch from top to bottom so that not one iota of a reminder of his dreadful cigar smoke or what she referred to as his old rich man’s cologne lingered anywhere in the house. She had tossed the flowers leftover from the funeral and called the florist to have them bring fresh ones. Bright ones. Ones that reminded her of the days when she had been young and innocent running barefoot in the meadow behind the broken-down old trailer that she had once called home. Before she had been used and abused and everything had been taken from her.

Do you have a favorite scene?

Not yet.

What advice would you give a beginner?

Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it. You can. You just have to want it bad enough. Read. Read. And read some more. Understand the market. Then craft your stories around what you like to read as well as what others like to read. Do it for yourself and not for the money and you will never be disappointed.

I am a wife and mother of two.  I have a daughter age eleven and a son who is six years old.  I am also a paraprofessional, working with SSN kids.  Outside of that, I write paranormal romance and all about living a healthy lifestyle.

When did you know you wanted to be an author?

I knew I wanted to write when I was a teenager.  I was assigned a creative writing class my senior year of high school.  I was terrified when I saw it on my schedule.  I was not a great student because of my learning disability and the thought of writing about what went on in my head just didn’t sound like a great idea.  I had a friend in the class, she actually told me I should drop the class because I wouldn’t be good at it.  That seemed like a challenge and I stayed in the class.  It turned out I loved doing it.

What genres do you like to read?  Are these the same genres you write in?

I like to read paranormal, paranormal romance, autobiographies, and suspense.  I write paranormal romance with suspense.

Is your book for adults, young adults or children?

My books are for adults.

What is your current release or project?

My current projects are all for my Hellborn Series.  I have just finished the edit on book two called Bad Karma.  It will be released on November 18th, 2019.  I am also working on the edit for book three and I am starting the outline and drafting process for book five.

Tell us about the key characters

Savannah Woods is the main character.  She is a badass ley line witch, who is also a hunter of other hellborns who break the law.  She tends to be a bit of a reactionary when others are being harmed, particularly when it is someone she loves.

Meri Embers is a vampire and Savannah’s best friend.  She has the ability of persuasion.  Meri is funny, sarcastic, and willing to back up Savannah at anytime.  She also likes to pick on Savannah a bit, which is always hilarious to read when it happens.  Savannah gives as good as she gets.

Santiago De los Rios is the second in command of the Black Grove Clan.  He has a very cool ability where he smells emotions but he also has the ability to make you feel what he wants you to feel.  This can be good and bad depending on which side you are on.  He is also Savannah’s love interest.  Santiago is charming, good looking, and intelligent.

Damian Vanguard is the Alpha of the Falls wolf pack.  He was Savannah’s first love.  Damian tends to be a reactionary but in a different way than Savannah.  He jumps to conclusions and takes things personally when they are not.  This causes many problems between Savannah and Damian.

What is your blurb or synopsis of the book?

Military woman with a gun over black background

Bad Witch Walking:  Savannah Woods is a hunter, who has worked to take down hellborns, who break the law.  As a hellborn herself, it is not an easy job to do.  But her job becomes increasingly more difficult with this case when human women turn up brutally murdered.  Someone within the hellborn community it trying to destroy the life the Black Grove Vampire Clan has built with the Falls Wolf Pack.  Savannah will have to solve this case before a war in her city breaks out and more lives will be lost.

This is from my first book Bad Witch Walking.  Enjoy.

“How long have you been interested in me?” I asked.

 “Long enough.”

 “What does that mean?”

“We first met close to nine years ago.  When you called the club asking to meet, I thought you had a beautiful voice, but I had heard many beautiful voices over the years.  It intrigued me.  When we met later that day I noticed your eyes first.  The blue becomes brighter with strong emotions.  When you pull on a ley line they become almost electric. Your scent fills the room.  You move your hands through your hair.  I love watching you as you move.  I have been taken with you since I laid eyes on you.  The more time I have spent with you the more I want you,” he replied.

“Why did you wait until now to say anything?”

“I knew of your history with Damian.  You were still in love with him.  I did not want to come between the two of you.  I also had a working relationship with Damian as well.  Our treaty has brought peace between the vampires and wolves.  Your case forced my hand.  When Hugo became unsure of you I knew I had to step in to help.  Kissing you was supposed to be nothing more than a cover.  I did not anticipate how you would respond when I kissed you. You are very hard to resist Savannah.”

I took the two steps that stood between us and kissed him.  Santiago had been right about my desire for him the night before.  I had been looking for comfort.  Now I wanted the male for his honesty.  He had pined for me.  He had placed his desires to the side for the good of the hellborn society.  I wanted him more than words could say in that moment.  The kiss broke when we both heard the front door open followed closely by Meri’s voice.

“Wake up if you aren’t… Well hello there,” she smiled as she saw us holding each other.

My face flushed red matching my hair. This was not how I wanted her to find out.  I could see as her hazel eyes sparkling with mischief for what was in store for me later.

“I should leave.  Please be safe tonight,” Santiago said as he placed a light kiss on my forehead.

Do you have a favorite scene?

I have a lot of favorite scenes.   One of them is the rest of this scene after Santiago leaves.  Meri  kind of messes with Savannah about her interest in the vampire and then Damian shows up which just adds fuel to the fire for Meri. It’s hilarious

What advice would you give a beginner?

It is advice I heard from one of my favorite authors she said it perfectly “be you, do you.”  Don’t try to be  someone else or write what you think people want to read. Write what you want to read and the story you want.

S. A. Santos

S. A. Santos and I met through social media. I’m impressed as she speaks many languages.

Author Bio

S. A. Santos is an Indie Author of romance and paranormal romance novels and short stories.

She is the author of romance novels: “Redemption” and “Sacrifice” and is currently writing the paranormal romance trilogy: “Through another dimension”, which is expected to be released in March 2020.

A former business executive and now retired, S. A. Santos has finally found the time to dedicate to her true passion: writing.

She loves coffee and always has a cup with her to fuel her writing sessions.

Tell us about yourself.

I worked as a business executive for the last twenty years, and now I’m retired. Because of my job, I had the opportunity to travel to different countries and learn different languages.

I speak English, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian.

I love cooking, gardening, and reading.

When did you know you wanted to be an author?

I thought about writing five years ago. I had an idea in my head and started writing my first manuscript. I didn’t finish it at the time because of my daily job. I’ve retired and started writing again. I had no idea of what I was doing at the time. Although I’ve read more than a thousand books throughout my life, I didn’t know anything about writing, editing, and publishing.

I’m now fully dedicated to my writing and to improve my writing, editing, and publishing skills. It’s been a fun and enlightening adventure!

What genres do you like to read? Are these the same genres you write in?

I like to read non-fiction: history, mythology, and technical books about writing and editing, and fiction: Contemporary Romance and Paranormal Romance.

I write Contemporary Romance and I’m writing a Paranormal Romance series now. These are the genres I feel most comfortable writing. It doesn’t mean that I won’t venture into other genres, though.

Is your book for adults, young adults or children?

My books are romance novel and paranormal romance novels for adults.

What is your current release or project?

This year I self-published the Contemporary Romance novel “Sacrifice”. Now I’m working on a paranormal romance trilogy: “Through another dimension”. I’m writing book 1 of the series and drafting books 2 and 3. I’m also writing short stories.

Tell us about the key characters

The main characters of the trilogy “Through another dimension” are strong heroines, and their fates are intertwined. They are all facing some difficulties in life and throughout the story they discover strengths and powers they didn’t know they have. The story is about finding your soulmate. Each heroine finds the soulmate that will challenge and complete her.

“Sacrifice” main character is also a heroine who has just lost her father and is thrown in a dire situation.

What is your blurb or synopsis of the book?

Sacrifice (released Jan,2019)

Kathleen opened her eyes to a white ceiling, white walls, and no windows. The strong smell of antiseptics may have woken her up, or perhaps she was still dreaming.

She wasn’t sure of anything anymore as she lived in a haze lately. Her throat was parched, her thoughts muddled.

She felt despair engulf her when she recalled the reason she ended up in that place.

It took weeks for Jason to finally locate Kat and free her from that nightmarish place. He is going to do whatever it takes to protect Kat and keep her safe.

Bring justice to the one that hurt Kat was a bonus.

This is part of Chapter 1 – Into my soulmate’s arms – Through another dimension Book 1 (To be released)

It’s only 4 PM on the PC taskbar. God, two more hours to go. The numbers on this report are already blurring into one. I don’t know if I can stand it. The awkward glances I’m getting all day is not helping matters. It looks like, despite my efforts, my makeup is not hiding the effects of my sleepless night. Damn you Jacob! Damn you to hell! My blood boils just to think of him. How could I be so stupid?

I get my phone and mug and leave my cubicle to grab some coffee. I wish I could wear dark lenses inside the office without attracting more attention than I already am with my puffy eyes.

I pour some coffee on my mug and check my phone. There’s one message from Ramona and nine messages from Jacob. I delete his messages without reading them and open Mona’s message next. It says, ‘Why are you not answering your phone? Call me!!’

I check my surroundings and type a quick reply. ‘I’m at the office. I’ll call you around 6 PM.’

“Have you finished revising the Fixed Assets Report, Laurie?” I almost drop the mug I’m washing on the sink. Oh God, not now. Arms crossed, Mr. Miller waits for my reply.

“Ah, no Mr. Miller. I’m almost done, though.” I try to hide my discomfort, keeping my profile to him.

“Laurie, you know the deadline is today. It shouldn’t take you this long to revise it for God’s sakes!”

“I know Mr. Miller. I’ll finish it today, I promise.”

“You’d better!” He leaves, but the threat hangs in the air.

I exhale. What’s wrong with this guy? I work hard and meet all his impossible deadlines. But it’s never good enough. Honestly, I don’t know why he hasn’t fired me yet.

Returning to my desk, I concentrate on the spreadsheet with resignation. I can’t lose my job now.

When the clock strikes 6 PM, I press the send button. Mr. Miller will have the whole weekend to plot new topics to torture me on Monday.

My phone chimes with another message from Jacob. I roll my eyes and count to ten. I hate the fact he still has power over me. I open the message. I’m at the verge of throwing my phone against the wall. The fact that I cannot afford a new one stops me. Instead, I call Ramona.

“Finally! I’ve been trying to talk to you the whole day. What the hell happened?” That’s Ramona. Straight to the point.

“I had a shitty day. And yesterday was even shittier. How about we meet for dinner at Dooley’s and I tell you everything? I can’t talk now. I’m at the office.”

“All right! I meet you there in half an hour.”

“Deal.”

Forty minutes later, I arrive at the pub and Ramona is already there at our favorite table sipping her Diet Coke.

I greet her and take my seat next to her at the sofa. She stares at me without saying a word. I force a smile and pretend I’m reading the menu.

“What’s happened between you and Jacob?” She gets right to it.

I bite my lower lip and taste a little blood. It all comes back to me. I try hard not to weep all over again. I should be done with crying by now. After a deep breath, I relay last night’s events to Mona.

“I was using my computer to update my on-line business profile. You know I’m looking for a better job and updating my online CV and photo is an important step. When I’ve opened the folder to upload my new CV, I saw a new folder that wasn’t there before. I thought I’ve created it by mistake. So, I’ve opened it and found a series of pictures and videos.”

“Oh, oh.”

“You see where I am going. The stupid bastard filmed his sexual escapades and saved them on my computer! My own computer! How stupid is that?” My voice raises an octave at this last part. “It’s like he wanted for me to find out.”

“Oh, darling, I’m so sorry.”

I stop talking for a minute and let Ramona hug me. I grit my teeth every time I see those fucking pictures in my head. I’ve never taken myself as someone capable of killing another human being. But I swear to God, if I had a gun at that moment, I’d shoot Jacob right between his deceitful eyes without an ounce of regret.

Ramona releases me from her hug, and I continue my story. “The bastard had the nerve to deny it to my face.”

“Who was the girl?” Ramona asks me reluctantly.

“Oh, there were several.”

Do you have a favorite scene?

I don’t think I do. I guess my favorite scene is the one I’m writing at the moment.

Agnes Varona Oquendo

Agnes and I met through social media. She’s a cancer survivor and long distance runner as well as being an author.

Author Bio

Agnes Varona Oquendo, RN, Author is a native New Yorker who has worked many years as a nurse in a clinical setting and then as an educator. She describes her most vital life role as mother and now grandmother, most notably known to her family as MiMi. As a longtime strong advocate for women, health and education, it inevitably drew her attention to becoming an avid long distance runner and athlete, loving and learning a humbleness for the sport. But after a cancer diagnosis and hurdling over life’s challenges, she rekindled her lost love for writing, leading her to a new life role as an Indie Author. Her first published book, “Running Against Cancer,” became available through Amazon in 2018. In 2019 she has published; “My Shorts,” and “Dark Whispers of a Serial Killer.” She is presently working on her fourth and fifth book while enjoying every moment with her family.

Tell us about yourself

I am a recently retired RN who has worked in various areas of a hospital setting for over 4 decades. My life hats over the years include mother, grandmother, runner/marathoner, cancer survivor/warrior, educational speaker, educator, and now author.

When did you know you wanted to be an author?

Books have always been an important part of my life since I was a little girl. I have dreamt of writing because of my love of books. After my struggle with cancer, I wanted to write and share my struggle with others in an attempt to help others with the same or similar struggle to find hope and empowerment with keeping ourselves educated and informed, hence my first self-published book, “Running Against Cancer.”

What genres do you like to read? Are these the same genres you write in?

I enjoy reading several genres that hold my interest. I tend to read biographies, crime, suspense/thrillers but I am open to anything. I have published 3 books so far; “Running Against Cancer,”-my own biography, “My Shorts,” a novel extending over several generations of a family that immigrated to the US and their family drama, and recently, “Dark Whispers of a Serial Killer,” which delves into the mind of a serial killer and the minds of his victims, their families, also a novel.

Is your book for adults, young adults or children?

My books at present for adults, although Running Against Cancer can be read by young adults. I am presently working on a children’s book and another adult novel.

What is your current release or project?

My current release is, “Dark Whispers of a Serial Killer.”

Tell us about your key characters?

Key characters; Detective Sarah Wilson- lead detective, the serial killer and his victims.

What is your blurb or synopsis of the book?

Dark Whispers is a psychological thriller with a twist.

Share an excerpt

I think the prologue gives an indication of the killers childhood, an excerpt taken from My Shorts. It is in an essence related in only that sense to my second book. After writing My Shorts, I found a way to keep the story going but it is not necessary to read them in order. It just gives a background to the killer.

Do you have a favorite scene?

I actually love the entire story.

What advice would you give a beginner?

My advice to someone writing their first book is just write. I personally cannot write with a written plan. I just write and let it flow but that is what works for me. It may not work for everyone. I think that I have learned something new as I go along with the help of FB author groups and of course an editor. I did not have anyone edit my first book and I can look back and wish that I had another set of eyes read over it for me. I also think an eye catching cover is important, it’s a preview of what is inside. I learn something new every single day, in every aspect of my life.

Sammy Davies

Sammy Davies and I met through social media. She’s from Melbourne Victoria!

Author Bio

Sammy Davies was born in 1976 in Melbourne Victoria, to a beautiful couple Dot and John.

Raised in Melbourne with her younger sister Karen and her two younger brothers Joel and Jack, she has lived over most of Victoria. Sammy has three sons Shannon, Samuel and Peter.

Sammy has been writing for most of her life, her very first story to ever be published was a little story in the newspaper when she was still in primary school. She had a wild imagination and could talk the leg off an iron pot. As she grew her stories grew with her, starting off by telling the tales of her family and friends to drawing on the emotions and vibrations that she felt the world give off.

Her stories aren’t about particular people, but they are real none the less, real emotions, real people and real stories, they touch people whether that is to make them fall in love, hate or grieve, Sammy always aims her stories make you feel something.

Tell us about yourself.

I am 43 years old and live in Clunes, Victoria in a tiny house. I love the smell of cow poo and am a chronic audiophile. I despise feet and am morbidly afraid of nasal fluids. I’ve just discovered magnet fishing, and have really been enjoying finding all sorts of oddities that have found their way into our waterways.

When did you know you wanted to be an author?

When I was in my teens. I’ve always loved writing and found it to be a great release, especially in those teenage years that are full of angst and boyfriend troubles. I didn’t start to take my writing seriously until I was in my late thirties.

What genres do you like to read?  Are these the same genres you write in?

I love romance. I’m a closet romantic, my favourite book is Wuthering heights. It seems I’ve always liked that dark brooding alpha male. I write dark romance, with loads of trigger warnings.

Is your book for adults, young adults or children?

My books are definitely suited more to adults. I do have a couple of books, such as “Soldiers at War” and “The Mollops” that are written with young adults in mind.

What is your current release or project?

My current project that I’m working on is currently nameless, I can’t think of a great title for it, however, it is dealing with domestic violence.

Tell us about the key characters

My favourite characters come from my book “Killer Love”, they are Wolf and Molly, who are best friends and lovers. They go on a killing spree of a pedophile ring. Wolf had the right amount of alpha and gentleness, while Molly was a badass. My book currently involves Tara and Brock. Tara is a broken woman, who learns to be tough. While Brock is alpha, of course, but not aggressive.

What is your blurb or synopsis of the book?

The current book synopsis is that Tara has been attacked by her ex husband Tommy, who killed their daughter Alice and her parents. She is learning to cope with life without her family, when she reunites with Brock, her father’s lawyer. Brock had tried to get Tara to leave Tommy when they were in high school, however, Tara was too in love and couldn’t see the evil that Tommy exuded.  Brock then helps Tara with her legal matters, and her families estate, while walking the journey of healing with her. Of course they are going to fall in love and like all of my books, live happily ever after.

This is an exert from my book “Sisters Revenge”

Now, Emmaline cried to herself— she had no protector, no big brother, and no one she could get advice from. No one would be in her corner at school, no one to tell her that she was beautiful.

Emmaline shook her head as torrential tears continued to flow. She jumped when her phone buzzed. Emmaline looked at the screen and saw Spencers name pop up. She scrambled to open the message. He wouldn’t be sending her a message if he were dead.

The phone dropped from her hands, landing with a hard thud on the floor, the crack of the screen shattering and the silent scream that stretched at her lips. Emmaline shook her head as she knelt on the floor, gently lifting the phone, afraid to look at the message, afraid to see what was there from her brothers’ phone.

She prayed she was seeing things, but as she turned the phone, the same picture was sprawled across the screen— a photo of her brother lying face down in a pool. Emmaline scrolled down, seeing the next photo sent almost immediately after the first, of the paramedic’s desperately working on Spencer’s wet and lifeless body.

Harley, one of Spencer’s friends, stood soaking wet next to Spencer, his face filled with anguish watching the paramedics attempt to save her brother’s life.

Emmaline shook her head and closed her eyes. “This can’t be possible. It’s a nightmare, it’s all just a bad nightmare,” she mumbled to herself, as she gave her leg a hard pinch between her thumb and forefinger.

Her leg burned and Emmaline threw her head back, squeezing her eyes tight and wincing at the pain that spread through her body. She looked down at the phone again, staring at the cruel photos someone sent her.

Emmaline went to reply, but noticed that the person with Spencer’s phone was typing, so she sat watching the screen, waiting for the next piece of heartbreak. It didn’t take long to come through in video form— the coroner shoving Spencer’s body crudely into a body bag and zipping it up.

People stood around with the police and paramedics. The video showed Reed and Harley talking with police. Harley continued to run his hands through his long, dark hair. Reed stood trembling with his face in his hands and his shoulder’s shaking with sobs.

Emmaline watched the video over and over, trying to work out who had Spencer’s phone. She tried to figure out who would be doing something so callous.

In the video, Emmaline noticed groups of Spencer’s friends standing around talking, most visibly shaken, and a few parents mingled in amongst the group. Jaya, one of the girls Spencer had dated on and off, was sobbing into her friends’ Natalie and Lily’s neck. But there wasn’t anyone that she didn’t know, or anyone missing from Spencer’s friends.

Emmaline snarled, typing angrily into the phone. “Who are you?”

The phone showed the person typing on the other end. Emmaline felt her grief turning into anger. Her fury beginning to boil over, she couldn’t believe anyone would do something so cruel. Spencer wasn’t even cold, and this person felt it would be funny to terrorise his sister. Her anger mixed with a disgust that made her want to vomit.

“It’s Spencer, you silly, chunky little nerd,” the reply read.

Do you have a favorite scene?

In my book Killer Love, my favourite scene is when Molly feeds a pedophile that she is in the process of killing to starving rats.

What advice would you give a beginner?

Just write. Don’t stress the little things, get a good editor and enjoy the process.

Claire Buss

Claire Buss and I met through social media. She interviewed me for her blog and I’m returning the favor. Her books look interesting and are on my to read list.

Author Bio

Claire Buss is a multi-genre author and poet based in the UK. She wanted to be Lois Lane when she grew up but work experience at her local paper was eye-opening. Instead, Claire went on to work in a variety of admin roles for over a decade but never felt quite at home. An avid reader, baker and Pinterest addict Claire won second place in the Barking and Dagenham Pen to Print writing competition in 2015 with her debut novel, The Gaia Effect, setting her writing career in motion. She continues to write passionately and is hopelessly addicted to cake.

Tell us about yourself.

Hi! I’m Claire, a stay at home mum and multi-genre author. By day I wrangle my little monsters and by night I attempt to wrangle words. I love to read, drink tea and eat cake.

When did you know you wanted to be an author?

I’ve always wanted to write but felt for a long time that I just couldn’t. It wasn’t until I joined a Writers Workshop at my local library that I began to gain the confidence to write and share my words with others. I’ve always loved to read and explore my own imagination, but I still have to pinch myself sometimes when other people tell me they enjoy reading my books lol.

What genres do you like to read?  Are these the same genres you write in?

My go to genres are fantasy and sci-fi but I will read anything, apart from horror. An overactive imagination means that horror stories scare me too much! I belong to several book clubs so I’m always trying something new and I like that they push me to try different things. I have a firm 50 pages rule – if I’m not enjoying the book by that point then I move on to something else.

Is your book for adults, young adults or children?

My books are mainly for adults although younger readers would probably enjoy my humorous fantasy Roshaven books.

What is your current release or project?

My current book is The Gaia Solution, book 3 in The Gaia Collection, my hopeful dystopia series, and it’s out today in paperback and ebook. I’m really excited to have finished writing this trilogy especially as book one was my debut novel, so it feels like a real achievement.

Tell us about the key characters

I have several main characters because they are a group of friends. Kira and Jed Jenkins, Martha Hamble, Ruth Maddocks, Dina Grey and Max Carter. Now that we’re in book three, things have changed dramatically for all of them but their friendship has remained strong.

What is your blurb or synopsis of the book?

Kira, Jed and their friends have fled New Corporation and joined the Resistance, but their relief is short-lived as they discover how decimated the human race has become and learn of an environmental crisis that threatens to destroy their existence. Kira and Jed must travel up the mountain to the New Corporation stronghold, City 50, to bargain for sanctuary while Martha and Dina risk everything to return to City 42 and save those who are left. With the last of her reserves Gaia, the fading spirit of the Earth uses her remaining influence to guide Kira and her friends but ultimately, it’s up to humanity to make the right choice.

Zac stood in his office and scanned the briefing file in front of him, looking up briefly as Colonel Archer arrived. He was aware of her standing to his left but said nothing as he finished looking over the report.

‘So, not what we’d hoped, Archer.’

‘No, Sir. Fewer groups of refugees are arriving. I don’t think there will be many more. We can clear cities 24, 30 and 11 from the board. They’re not viable.’

Zac glanced at the map on the wall. It was accurate as they had been able to make it. Everyone who arrived at their camp was questioned carefully to determine which city they came from, which cities they passed and other important environmental information.

‘You can take 36 off the map, as well as 15.’

‘Were they both destroyed by New Corp?’

‘No. 36 is full of radiation, it won’t be safe to inhabit for decades to come. Shame really, a stronghold in the mountains would have been a tactical advantage.’

‘Not when you read the latest report, Sir.’ Archer bit her lip as she waited for her superior to catch up on the results of weeks of investigation. She caught herself tapping her fingers impatiently and held back the urge to speak before he’d finished reading. Finally, Zac put the handheld down and leaned heavily on the desk in front of him.

‘The entire country?’

‘That’s what it looks like, Sir.’

‘And the calculations are correct?’

‘To the best of our knowledge.’ Archer paused. ‘Who are the people you brought with you, Sir?’

Zac pushed himself to standing and began ticking names off his fingers. ‘Artem you know. From City 42 we have their former rebel leader, Martha Hamble with her son as well as Archivist Kira Jenkins and former Force detective Jed Jenkins with their children. Dr Max Carter and Dina Grey are scientists, originally from Camp Eden, and Ash is one of Jed’s men.’

‘Perhaps their scientists can independently verify the data for us. It might also make them join our cause, when they know some of the facts.’

‘I don’t think we need to worry about whether they will join or not. None of them are pro New Corp.’

‘How do you know, Sir?’

Zac closed down his info wall, indicating that he wanted to leave the room, and Archer came with him as he swiped to exit.

‘New Corp wiped out Artem’s complex…’

‘Yes, we know that, Sir.’ Archer interrupted.

‘Kira’s parents were there. As was one of the new mothers from City 42. With her child.’

Wide-eyed, Archer paled and took a step back.

‘Are they all… dead?’

‘Completely annihilated. I don’t think we need to be worried about them being motivated to help us. We might have to hold them back.’ Zac gestured at the discarded handheld on the table. ‘Make sure they get a copy of your latest report. I want them to have all the facts.’

Do you have a favorite scene?

I really like the ending of The Gaia Solution. It felt right when I was writing it and I’m pleased where the characters have ended up. There are actually lots of scenes I love but I can’t tell you about them because of *spoilers*!

What advice would you give a beginner?

Never give up! Never surrender! If you want to write, make time for it and understand that when you get to the end of your story, that’s not the end of your author journey.

Cass Ford

Cass Ford and I met through social media. She writes sexy, steamy stories. You might want to distract the kiddos before you read this one!

Author Bio

Smut writer Cass Ford began creating smoldering male protagonists when she was five years old and convinced her aunt that she had a hot and heavy kindergarten boyfriend. In grade school, she penned tales on her parents’ typewriter and by middle school sold her own love and gossip magazines to friends. As a preteen at sleepover camp, Cass often told playful, steamy bedtime stories to her bunkmates.

After earning her Bachelor of Journalism degree and several TV/film certificates, Cass continued to hone her passion for storytelling as a development producer for broadcast news and unscripted television. Born and raised in Canada, she now resides in California.

Tell us about yourself.

Hi! I’m Cass, a sex-positive smut writer.

When did you know you wanted to be an author?

I’m not sure when it all clicked. I’ve been telling stories since before I could write. As soon as I could write, I put stories to paper. But I was probably a pre-teen or teen before I realized I wanted to be an author.

What genres do you like to read?  Are these the same genres you write in?

My favorite genre is actually historical fiction. I also love reading books from past decades, the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s… But I always write in present day. I can’t imagine all the research I’d have to put into writing a smutty period piece. I’d probably have to ask my grandmother for erotic slang from her day. Although she read Prince of Sin, that’s still a conversation I don’t want to have.

Is your book for adults, young adults or children?

Adults! My sixteen-year-old cousin wants to read it, but we’re having her wait until she’s eighteen.

What is your current release or project?

Prince of Sin! It’s an erotic romance and my debut novel. It’s a love story between a gossip writer/vlogger and a porn star! Prince of Sin is available in eBook and paperback. And by the time this interview is released, the audiobook should be out too.

Tell us about the key characters.

My two protagonists are Morgan Sidney, a vlogger for a Hollywood gossip website who longs to find more meaningful work. And Chase Prince, the biggest porn star in town (a.k.a. the Prince of Sin). Morgan hates pornography for very personal reasons, so when she gets assigned the Prince of Sin’s breakup for work, she doesn’t expect to be so intrigued…

What is your blurb or synopsis of the book?

When savvy gossip vlogger Morgan Sidney gets assigned the breakup of porn’s most illustrious couple, she strikes a deal with her boss—if she scores an exclusive, she’ll get promoted. So when the famous and flirtatious Prince of Sin offers to fulfill her three wildest sex fantasies, Morgan must decide whether she’ll keep things professional or surrender and explore her sensual side.

As someone who despises the media, why is Chase Prince spending time with a reporter? Clearly, he’s intrigued. But can a scorched sinner—and the biggest smut star around—let a fierce civilian enter his domain?

Prince of Sin takes readers beyond Tinseltown’s glossy Hollywood Hills to Silicone Valley—for a behind-the-scenes look at a sometimes bleak, always risqué world.

Acknowledging the room, Morgan found numerous colleagues staring. Who could blame their intrigue as the Prince of Sin stood by her cubicle, attempting to flirt? To avoid a dramatic scene, Morgan clasped his bicep, which literally bulged, so she opted for his forearm and guided him toward the conference room.

“Who’s Barbie Blue?” he asked.

“My pseudonym,” she whispered. Barbie was her deceased paternal grandmother, the resilient single mother who’d raised her father. And blue was simply her favorite color. “I don’t need my respected family to learn I’m covering the seediest biz on earth.”

Chase furrowed his brow as Morgan pulled him inside and shut a solid wooden door. “Don’t you have someplace to be?” she asked. “Teenagers lined up to sit on your face?”

Her sass made his dick twinge. Attempting to ignore it, he skipped to the point. “Your fact checker called my agent. Could you not use that one Viola Emperor quote? The one I said off record?”

“Funny,” she stated. “I specified that everything was on record.”

Determined to negotiate, he attempted an adorable, pouty baby face. “Please. I beg, I plead.”

“Oh, all right!” Morgan agreed facetiously, eyes bright.

Reading her perky, exaggerated expression, he asked, “Really?”

“No,” she chortled.

His pout deepened.

“Ech. Do girls actually fall for that?” She pinched his cheek condescendingly. “Darling, you’re cute as a button. But we’re done here.” As she grabbed the doorknob, he tried to stop her by placing a firm, strong hand over hers. Morgan paused with a shiver and gnawed her lower lip. Chase noticed her nibbling and grinned, delighting in her reaction to his touch. She blinked rapidly and whipped her hand free.

“I could lose my job,” Chase begged.

“Oh no! The Prince of Sin will lose his loyal following of horny adolescent girls,” Morgan mocked. “That quote makes you sound sharp.”

“Sounding sharp isn’t something I care about.”

“It’s not?”

“I care about remaining employed,” he explained. “And that quote puts my career at stake.”

“My career’s at stake too,” she said. “My boss is a dick. And I deserve a promotion.”

His dick twitched again. Her drive excited him, confusingly because he also couldn’t stand her.

“My idiot fact checker shouldn’t have mentioned that clip. Stupid interns.”

Chase clasped her shoulder. “That sounds stressful, Morgan.”

Inhaling deeply, she breathed in his refreshingly sudsy scent. Her name flowed from his mouth like honey dripping from a spoon, sugary and inviting, though not sweet enough to pull the best quote.

He massaged her neck from behind. “It must be stressful for a smart, sexy career woman to deal with idiot interns and a dickhead boss.”

“Yes, it is.” Morgan unwound as his sturdy thumb expertly loosened a shoulder blade knot. “I don’t understand how these morons get promoted and I—” She inhaled his spearmint toothpaste with a touch of whiskey and wondered if the booze was remnants from a fresh morning pick-me-up or a wild night out. Spotting his hand on her shoulder, she bit her lip. A tiny, curious part of her considered succumbing to his intoxicating spell and expert fingers. But her sensibilities prevailed. She harrumphed hotly and scowled.

Chase threw his arms back defensively but refused to step away. “I’m innocent,” he feigned.

“Until proven guilty,” she suggested.

He inched closer, backing her into the door. “I’ll make you a deal.”

“You have nothing I desire.”

“Not even sex in public?” he answered, planting his hands on either side of her head. “That seems like something you desperately desire.”

She bit her lip again.

“And your colleagues are right outside.” His face inched closer, like an erotically charged magnet. “I’d gladly explore your top three fantasies.”

“Top three?” Morgan hollered boisterously. “What are you, a genie?”

“Only if you’ll rub my magic lamp,” he said with a wink.

She wanted to huff and sneer with a bitchy side-eye while cackling in his face. But her treacherous clit craved attention. It took every ounce of willpower not to nibble his full lower lip just an inch away. Determined, she ducked under his arm and moved aside. To refrain from literally swooning, she leaned on the conference table.

His prying eyes scanned her trim figure. “You should probably get back to those hundred things,” he said, twisting the doorknob. “Here’s my personal number.” Chase handed over a business card. “Maybe we can continue this sometime. Depending on what you decide to post, of course.”

He exited, leaving her to catch a shaky breath.

Do you have a favorite scene?

I haven’t been asked this yet, what a great question. Chapter 16, the Christmas party at Morgan’s parent’s house. Initially, I’d written this scene as more dramatic. But after sharing it with my writer’s group, everybody’s feedback was that it was a chance to really add some comedy. So I did and I’m so proud of how it turned out.

What advice would you give a beginner?

Success is half luck and half hard work—so work hard, but don’t beat yourself up over the setbacks.
