Wayfarer Aegis is a short story prequel to Adara and Decker’s love story. It tells the reader what happened to her on her assignment on the deep space explorer vessel which ended with over 300 dead. It’s been out for quite some time but I recently had it made into an audio book!
Lilly Canon is the artist who read my story. She nailed the characters and Adara especially. She was easy to work with and helpful. Her producer, Kyle, helped me so much it made the whole process super easy. They are a dream team!!

Adara Stone – pilot for the Interstellar Planets Union services.
She’s half Wayfarer and half human and Captain James’ last choice as a pilot. Excited for her first long contract and explorer class ship, Adara knows she’ll spend seven years flying a ship in unknown space. She can’t wait to see what’s out there.
By the book, Captain Alden James does not want anyone varying from his flight plan. He quickly loses patience with Adara breaking protocol.
Adara craves a family but finds only recrimination and punishment. She taps into the skills dismissed by her captain and the services in order to be the best pilot she can be. When Fate intervenes, will her Wayfarer skills be enough?
Wayfarer started as a request from my middle daughter in 2014. I’d successfully published a romance novel, a meditation book and three poetry books. I looked around and said – okay what next?
My middle daughter came up with the answer. Write her a space story with a strong female lead.
From there, I came up with Adara who was slightly damaged, quiet, and trying to figure out what she needed. My great grandmother was a petite woman standing about five foot all at most. My great grandfather was six foot seven inches. I have a picture of them where he’s sitting and she stands next him. They are the same height. This was the inspiration behind their physical attributes.
As I considered what it meant for her to be a Wayfarer I looked at different cultures which are outside the norm. I knew she was going to be skilled in ways the Humans couldn’t be. It’s almost paranormal.
Decker was meant to be a stiff necked jerk of sorts. He was supposed to be the by the book type character.
The whole story was about her learning to stand up and speak out for herself and him learning to trust her and bend – a lot.
Wayfarer Aegis
This book was actually written after I wrote the first five novels. I had to go back into each of the novels and pull out all the details I’d already written about the accident.

Recovered from the disaster of the Aegis, Adara longs to fly in space again.
Emotionally and physically battered, she applies to every piloting position but her heart and soul long to fly the Pritchard. The Manu investigatory ship requires all types of flying from chasing raiders, rescuing ships in danger, and getting investigators on site.
Captain Decker Flannery gets to hire his entire crew for the first time. He doesn’t want some damaged pilot to mess with the balance of his crew. When one of his pilots takes a better offer, he has no choice but to hire Adara Stone, highest ranking survivor from the Aegis. He doesn’t want her on his ship, he thinks she’s trouble.
Can Decker see through Adara’s quiet and discover more than he bargained for?
Once I finished Wayfarer, my test readers all said – ‘where’s the next one’. I told them no this was a one and done. They came back with was what about …. When they asked, I got ideas… and well ideas led to this.

Are Wayfarer Clans kidnapping children, teen girls, and scientists?
A rash of kidnappings lead Adara to suggest a Wayfarer clan is adding to their clan. Chasing down a stolen Science Corp vessel, Adara Stone beats the pilot and rescues the ship and all its occupants. The pilot of the ship shocks Adara.
Decker and Adara struggle to cope with her family relations as the crew dives deeper into the kidnapping cases. Friction arises between the two.
Will her family put a wall between Decker and Adara?
After the second book, I realized this was going to be a series. All the injuries up to this point have been for Adara. I knew that this couldn’t continue otherwise she was going to end up dead. Plus it would get tedious and predictable.

The Barions are back!
Decker wants Adara nowhere near the memorial but she insists on helping the survivors and the families of those lost on the Aegis.
With her plate full as a new clan leader, Adara leaves security up to Decker, Franklin, and Paul. Her only requirement – she must attend the memorial service.
Barion battlecruisers invade the Services space while a rogue Barion attempts to meet privately with Adara.
Will Decker and Adara survive this encounter with the Barions?
In this final installation of Wayfarers, Decker and Adara face an attack on their homeworlds as well as on their children. A clan member from Phelan’s clan attacks Addy and Zoe while Adara and Decker deal with riots and attacks on the home world. Phelan’s clan member is at fault. Will this break down the clans?
Out exploring their sectors of space, Adara settles into being Mathair Naclan – mother of the clans. At the home planets, Hal, Dimitri, and others cope with vandalism, sabotage, and racism. The Humans only group rises with violence and hate to attack the Wayfarers from within.
Sentenced to hard labor, prisoners are placed at Tom and Angeline’s manufacturing facility and Monroe’s mining operation. Though facing punishment for breaking the terms of being with the Wayfarers, Bernard Lundquist still runs operations on Hometown.
Bias within the Wayfarers and against the Wayfarers frustrates Adara as she and her admin council defend against the Humans only group. The family is threatened by the people Adara rescued. Can they find a way to peace or will the prejudice tear apart the connections Adara and the Wayfarers are making?
“It’s been seven hours and twenty one minutes,” Frey whispered as Jolen held her. “They’ve missed nursing twice now.”
“Everyone is working to find them,” Jolen said rubbed her arms, tried to comfort her.
“I can’t breathe,” Frey said rubbing her hand between her breasts.
“You have to,” Jolen said. “You have to keep hoping. Harry needs you.”
“He fought hard,” Frey said. “He used the self-defense training. We both did. It didn’t help.”
“I know,” Jolen said. “Do you remember how many came in the house?”
“Seven,” Frey said frowning. “They shoved all the other kids in a room, locked them in. They pointed phase rifles at my children.” Temper started to flush her cheeks.
“Do you know how many were outside,” Jolen asked.
“No,” Frey said. “We heard the detail fighting. Tray came in by us but they shot him without warning when they got into the house.”
“He’s going to be all right,” Jolen said reassured her. “What happened next?”
“They put the kids in our bedroom,” Frey said. “They ordered us away from the babies but Harry refused. I refused to go.”
“Did they speak,” Jolen said.
“One man spoke,” Frey said. “He spoke and the others did what he ordered. Harry fought. The man who spoke ordered two men to hold him while others beat him. I thought he was dead. I fought, I tried to stop them hurting him but they threatened my babies with their phase rifles.”
“Was there anything distinctive about the man’s voice,” Jolen asked. “Did he have an accent, say words a particular way, or stutter?”
“No. He spoke softly like he didn’t want his voice to be recognized,” Frey said.
“Do you remember any distinctive features about them,” Jolen asked.
“Two of them were over six feet but not by much,” Frey said closing her eyes. “Three were shorter than Harry, they might have been women. The last two were between five ten and six foot. The three shorter ones were bulky but I think it was an attempt to prevent us knowing they were women.”
“Why,” Jolen asked.
“When they put Harry down and me next to him, those three shorter ones took the babies,” Frey said. “The man in charge, he seemed to think it beneath him to carry babies.”
“Frey, you’ve been wonderful,” Jolen said. “I’m going to step out. Regan and Rowena are coming back in to sit with you. Before I go, I want you to know, you are safe here. You are in a private room at the Healing Center. There are several squads of fighters surrounding you. Outside of those people, we’ve got neighborhood watch patrolling the nearby neighborhoods.”
“Where are the rest of the children,” Frey asked.
“Libheanna has seen to them,” Jolen said. “She set them up in a space across the hall. They are secure.”
“How many of the detail died,” Frey asked.
“The count is up to four now,” Jolen said. She patted Frey’s shoulder as she shook her head burying her face in her hands.
Wayfarer Resolve is finally done! In this final installation of Wayfarers, Decker and Adara face an attack on their homeworlds as well as on their children. Wayfarer Expansion is the tenth is the series and it was published today! I’ve finally got all of my ducks in a row and finished the edits and published.
My intention today was to clean my office. I want to reorganize some drawers and shift things around so filing (which I hate doing) will be easier. I figured if I finally got around to this, my office would be more work space than pig sty. It’s still a mess.
However, I finished the edits on the tenth novel this morning. It took me all morning, much longer than I expected. Then I read a book while I had lunch. It was very nice to just kick back and relax. This afternoon I started the publishing process and now it is done! I’m very excited.
This means I’m going back to writing. I have two crochet projects I HAVE to get done in the next month. From there, I have one other project that has a deadline. While I love the crocheting, I’ve finished watching the shows I was watching and now it’s time to go back to some intensive writing – so long as the muse is willing.
Wayfarer Expansion is now available in ebook for $2.99 and in paper for $12.95. Check it out at these sites Smashwords Amazon
Wayfarer Salvation is the next installment for Adara and Decker. See how they cope with a pregnancy after a miscarriage. Adara continues as a trainer for pilots and has to deal with a recalcitrant and arrogant Bart Jarvin. After two conflicts, he decides to show her what a good pilot he is but fails miserably by crashing a shuttle and injuring himself and three engineers. A cascade of events follows with a secret investigation being launched into Adara.

It’s done! Wayfarer 9 is complete in the rough draft stage. I sat at my computer yesterday, forgot to eat, worked on it for hours, ignored my phone and most other distractions and got 33,000 words done. After 22 hours being up I sent off the rough draft to my test readers who can now stop nagging me.
When I sent it, I was in the “I’m done with this project and I don’t like it” stage. My daughter always gives me grief over this because generally I’m okay with how things turned out, it’s just I don’t have enough distance to be objective.
I slept from 6:30 this morning until 9:00 which was a little disappointing as I would have liked a little more sleep. I dozed until after 11:00 so I’m getting a slow start to the day.
I’ve gotten a bunch of admin work done. I got my sales spreadsheet updated. At some point, I’m going to shower and eat – maybe before Ken gets home. Today I want to work on updating four through seven of the Wayfarer series so I can take this task off my todo list.
Since I’m working on such little sleep, I’ll probably nap at some point. You never know. I may get some inspiration and work on Defenders 3 as that is the next project I want to tackle. I may just lounge about reading what I have done before I tackle the next stages of the novel.
I’m giving myself today and tomorrow to work on it. Saturday I’m hoping to talk Ken into a movie (or two) and Sunday I have mom coming over for a bit. I don’t know if I can finish Defenders in one day but I’m going to see how it goes and hope Wayfarer 10 stays out of my head until I’m done.
I also want to tackle the edits for 8, production on short stories, and a crochet pattern I’m midway through. The list never ends.
Last night I wrote until 12:30. I was so tired I could hardly keep my eyes open but still I had three scenes I noted I wanted to write. As soon as I went to bed I thought of another scene I wanted to include but I went to sleep and managed a whole whopping four hours. When I woke up at five this morning, I tried to go back to sleep and did manage to doze for a while.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get back to sleep. Eventually I got up and went to my office computer. I paid bills, did some production, and worked on some administrative stuff. I spent a good deal of time getting information like what books I sold in May (yes I was behind) and from which company I sold them through.
As I sat at my desk, I eventually realized it was nearly one in the afternoon and I hadn’t had breakfast or lunch. I had brunch and wrote another scene for Wayfarer 9. I got cold while I sat at my desk in the office, so I curled up with a blanket and took a nap until my daughter called me.
Ken came home and I’ve spent time with him. Now he is off to bed and I’m all alone. Guess I could manage to write another couple of scenes or more.
It felt good to get the work out of the way this morning. I feel like I got somewhat caught up. I still have a binder full of edits to do for the Wayfarer series so I can update them. I’m hoping to get that done this weekend maybe.
I texted with all three of my daughters today, wrote, did admin stuff for my writing, worked on production, spent time with my husband, played Peggle, and wrote some more.
Now I have my classical music going. My hair is up. The characters are grumbling in my head to stop writing this post and work on their story. I may have stayed in my jammies all day but I have been very productive.
Pre-order ended and is now available for sale in both ebook and paperback!
This one was fun to write. It is action packed with Adara, Decker and all their friends facing kidnapping, experimentation, and the Hettians. While the Pritchard gets repaired, Adara and Decker fall into life at Command. Sabotage and danger shadow them on the station. Once the ship is repaired, Decker, Adara, their crew, and Adara’s pilots head out to make contact with the Hettians. Along the way, Rhia, Franklin, and Avin face a serial killer. Adara can’t shake her bad feeling. Oakes predicts another loss.
Wayfarer is on sale for 99 cents! It will be on sale for about a week. I’m hoping to publish Wayfarer Trials this weekend.
Wayfarer is the beginning of the story and on sale for only 99 cents. It is the beginning of the story between Decker and Adara. Wayfarer Trials is the latest installment of their story. Decker and Adara return from their honeymoon to fall right back into the investigation into Castitate Colony and Patrick Richardson with the rest of the command staff.
Danger rounds every corner in this book for the crew of the Pritchard. Decker’s family comes onboard for protection as Delilah tracks down the businesses involved in their cases. Action packed and fast paced, Adara, Decker and the rest of the crew face bombs, pirates, and human traffickers as they gather evidence to take down a lifelong criminal.
